About

I’m Danny Mortimer. As a videographer with a background in journalism, I use video to tell stories. I create freelance video pieces on stories that inspire, move or entertain me, and I hope the end product has the same effect on you. I have over five years of professional video experience, including my current position as the digital storyteller for the YMCA of Greater Boston. My previous employers include Boston City TV, WGBH, the New England Conservatory and Boston Neighborhood Network.
As a teaching assistant for Northeastern journalism students on three five-week trips to Spain, Greece and Cuba in 2015, 2017 and 2018, I was able to create a number of video pieces to highlight student work.  My footage was used on two Emmy-nominated episodes of WCVB’s “Chronicle.”
I have experience shooting with DSLR cameras, ENG cameras, Canon C100 and studio cameras. I am familiar with Avid, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere and Motion. I also have experience researching and pitching my own ideas for videos and interviewing subjects. I hope you enjoy my videos and my email is below for any questions or comments.
